Expanding Connections

Inspired by the typographic term hyphen(-),'Expandings Connections' explores the human hyphenation from various perspectives. The ultimate goal of our connection is to have an authentic relationship. This project consists of a series of related works based on this concept; expanding connections. With this concept, I designed the book "I and Thou" by the German philosopher Martin Buber as a first work where he represented a deeper sense of connection between 'I' and 'Thou'(you).

What Colours Do

Colours can cause an illusion in our life. I've been always wondered how they work in our daily life. This project began with a deep exploration of 'colour', an essential element of our life. These 'Printing Test Sheets' create confusions of colours and present images that confuse viewers. Inspired by illusional images that mirror can create, I combined this with an idea that colours are also in part of this interesting confusion.

Interview of light

I designed interview book of a technician in photography workshop.Inspired by the interview, the fact that photography is based on light interests me and I created light related contents. The book presents photographs I took with light and linear layout for the shape of passing light. The cover and first two spreads show how the workshop look like.

Hide and Seek: Colour Study

Colours are so immersed in our daily life that we sometimes do not recognize colours as they are. We perceive it as just part of some objects sometimes. The most basic colours, Red, Yellow and Blue became a big and noticeable coloured circles, stood out of coloured lives. I applied this practice to the strong colour of the Riso as well.

A Book of the World: Literature, Photography and Drawings combined book

I wrote a lot based on these keywords while reading; Ambiguity, Desperation, Real&Fake and Observation. Inspired by my writings and literature(especially poems), I made drawings, graphic works and played with typography and shapes of poems related I felt from each keyword and took photographs while travelling or on ordinary days whenever I feel these keywords.

Summer Rain : Inspired by our small talk

The aesthetic of the poster was inspired by flyers of a super market in summer days. It presents storytelling of our portrait waiting for summer rain in the middle of scorchers in the summer.

You are Alice in Wonderland

This project is an interactive work inspired by Lewis Carroll's book; an intriguing idea that goes beyond the laws of physics in wonderland. The website enables audiences to explore the wonderland as Alice in the book, discovering the visual and audio characteristics of it.

Living in a moment.

Living in a lockdown period, This project explores how my day is going by tracking all the records of the day.It presents typography, graphic, photos, etc inspired by the most rememberable words, photo of the day.

(In)visible

(In)visible projects strated with philosophical idea of complementary interation. A Chinese Philosopher 'Noja' once said that the utility of unvisible 'nothing' creates the utility of visible 'existence'. That is, what we can see makes visible what we cannot see and vice versa.

Timely Imagination

Time is a concept of infinite; the state of unknown and unending change. When one sees something, the gaze moves from point A to B and there might be 'time' in between.
